Care for people with Disabilities

City Healthcare Resources provides one-on-one staff support for people with disabilities in their homes, offering the necessary assistance to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle.  People with developmental and physical disabilities can experience problems with major life activities such as mobility, self-help, and independent living. With the support of a City caregiver, individuals can participate in activities or programs that might otherwise be inaccessible to them.

 We realize that everyone’s requirements are different and constantly evolving; therefore our services are tailored to meet the needs and interests of our individual clients. If you or a loved one is coping with the daily challenges of a disability, City Healthcare Resources can help.

City’s care for people with disabilities includes, but are not limited to the following:

• Skilled nursing

    o Tracheotomy and ventilator care

    o Administering medications and treatments

    o Client and family education

    o Liaison between client and Physician

    o Tube feedings

• Household Services

    o Performing light housekeeping

    o Running errands (prescription pick-up, dry cleaning, etc.)

    o Organizing and reading mail

    o Grocery shopping

    o Laundry & ironing

    o Escorting to appointments and social events

    o Assisting with pet care

    o Planning, preparing, and cleaning up meals

• Personal Care Services

    o Assistance with a safe bathing environment

    o Assistance with daily grooming and hygiene needs

    o Assistance with dressing

    o Assistance with walking

    o Posture positioning

    o Eating assistance

    o Toileting assistance

• Companion Services

    o Providing companionship and conversation

    o Providing respite care

    o Providing medication reminders

    o Monitoring diet and eating

    o Assisting with getting in and out of bed

    o Entertaining (games, crafts, reading, etc.)

    o Assisting with clothing selection

    o Arranging for medical, dental, or other professional appointments

• Sitter Services (available in the home, hospital, or facility)

    o Maintaining patient’s comfort level

    o Assisting with meals and feeding

    o Seeking assistance from the hospital/facility nurse when patient is in need

    o Monitoring patient activity (i.e. ensuring patient stays in bed, IVs remain in   place, etc.

    o Supervising patient through the night Ensuring family members know that their loved one is safe when they are unable to be there    
    o Entertaining (games, crafts, reading, etc.)

Regardless of the activity or need, City’s highly skilled staff ensures that every person has an enjoyable and empowering experience. City’s caregivers are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
